Cleandistortion is a 4-piece hailing out of Osaka. Staying true to their name, Cleandistortion dip all their hooks in a straight-forward distortion, producing something poppy akin to say Matthew Sweet, Teenage Fanclub, Velvet Crush, Fountains of Wayne.
Formed in 1995, the band released a song on a compilation for Clover Records in 2000. But besides for a few additions to compilations such as 2002's "Pop Comes Up" (Bluebadge), the band was slow to release material and not really heard from until they pop up in the new millennium on Bluebadge, finally releasing a mini-album and single in early 2004.
The new material exhibits not only their ability to step on distortion pedals during choruses as par their name, but also the propensity to craft complex hooks, harmonies and melodies.
