Kyoto enjoys a vibrant music scene, benefiting from the presence of many large universities and colleges which help bring lots of young people to the city. Mixing into the cultural pot is the city's 1000 years of history, art, and architecture, helping to make Kyoto one of the most fertile grounds for art and music in all of Japan.
