When they get it, they hit it right on the head. The head-bob inducing pop perfection is a careful blend of pre-White Album Beatles, with a little Buzzcocks and Ramones tossed in the mix.
The Playmates are one of K.O.G.A Records' most successful bands and an anchor on the label along with the Automatics. Crafting carefree pop songs with shimmering 60s guitars, complete with sweet, sing-along refrains, the Playmates are stuck in another decade, but they do what they do so well, who are we to care? If you dig pop songs with the "la-la-la" and the "oh-oh-oh" harmonies in the back, you will most certainly like the Playmates. Famous for their tight live show, check out their DVD release celebrating the band's 10th anniversary and see for yourself.
